A couple of years ago, I was lucky enough to travel to Reykjavik, Iceland, for a work trip that happened to take place on my birthday. My lovely coworkers assigned me the task of selecting a restaurant for dinner to celebrate. Not speaking Icelandic made this tough, but the place we ended up going to was simply amazing. I can still remember the food I had that night, including a dessert made of ice cream on which molten lava chocolate was poured, creating what we described as “interactive dessert.” Along with the food came a stunning atmosphere, complete with large geometrically-extruded lamps refracting warm cozy light over the dark wood that comprised the rest of the restaurant. Truly a birthday to remember.

For this photo challenge, show us what “refraction” means to you. It could be an image taken in a reflective surface, it could be light bent from behind an object, or it could mean remedial math homework: the choice is completely up to you. I’m looking forward to seeing how you interpret “refraction.”
